Harlem Shake: Draftfcb New York Style
By Christina Richichi, senior account executive, Draftfcb

Draftfcb New York made its mark on the Harlem Shake internet phenomenon.

Why did we do it? Why not? Our production afforded us another great way to have fun and foster collaboration at work.

And that, according to Kevin Allocca, the trends manager at YouTube, is important. In a TED Ideas worth spreading video called Why Videos Go Viral, Allocca praised the value of being totally surprising and humorous. So, we were.

We pulled off our incredible edition of the Harlem Shake with the help of a very dedicated and enthusiastic team, and the great talent of the staffers at Draftfcb New York, of course. One week from start to finish. Have a look and enjoy.

Thank you to everyone involved, especially: Rob Murphy (Co-Creator), Carlos Franco (Director), Ronnie Caltabiano (Producer), Rob D’Antoni (DP and Editor), Kijani Wyse (The Shaker!), Natalia Schustak (Prop master), and Jayme Pignatello (Production Assistant).
